Kelly Shimoda makes handbuilt ceramics, including jewelry, tableware, and sculptural pieces. Her work has a visceral quality, inspired by observations of landscape, the natural world, textiles, and metallic elements. She works with folded contours and free-formed shapes and makes each piece herself by hand.
Shimoda has always enjoyed making things and worked as a photographer before she started working with clay. She lives in Berkeley, California.

/// Each item varies slightly, reflecting the beauty of handbuilt ceramics. Tableware is food and dishwasher safe, although hand washing is always preferred. Ceramic jewelry is inherently delicate and while hardy enough for regular wear, care in handling is always recommended. ///
